Robert, there is no confirmation that SharePoint 2010 (WSS 4.0) will support direct SQL access out of the box via a list. We will have to wait to see if they announce anything about this in October. Today, if you have MOSS, you can use the Business Data Catalog (BDC) to expose back-end systems, such as SQL, to SharePoint lists.

Thanks,

Paul Liebrand

Hi,
I was looking around for a way if it was possible (I am a novice at Sharepoint, but have developed it out more than most small busineses) to display SQL tables within Sharepoint. It sounds like we have to wait? (2008) Am I out of touch and an upgrade would get me there?
Thanks,
Robert Parker
